Dubai 2014 Firework Show just broke the the world record for the largest ever fireworks display. Over 500,000 fireworks were used during the display which lasted around six minutes. It not only broke the record set in 2012 during a display to mark Kuwait’s golden jubilee anniversary with a total of 77,282 fireworks launched, but also broke that record within their first minute. The splendid show covered a distance of 61.6 miles (or over 94 km) and included the city’s seafront as well as Dubai’s most famous landmarks like the Palm Jumeirah, World Islands, the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab. To make sure that the fireworks’ timing were accurate down to the millisecond, leading up to the event, more than 200 expert technicians worked an astounding 5,000 hours. Over 1.7 million people who attended the event and left us a lot of amazing photos. Here are some of them and you can also enjoy the firework show video at the end of the post. 1.
